Raw opium seized

YANGON, 25 May - A combined team comprising members of the local intelligence unit, Myitkyina Special Anti-drug Squad and local police force, searched three bags bearing the name of Daw Aye Maung on No (49) Naba-Myitkyina train at Hopin Railway Station on 15 May. The authorities found 14 packages of raw opium weighing 19.15 kilos hidden under jaggery in the bags.

Heroin and raw opium seized

YANGON, 25 May - A combined team comprising members of local intelligence unit and Myanmar Police Force, acting on information, searched a Hilux vehicle with number plates 4Ka/4206 at Phayangasu Checkpoint in Thazi Township on 7 May and seized a package of raw opium weighing 1.633 kilo from passenger Tun Sein, son of U Tun Hla of Peinin Village, Bamauk Township.
