Drug trafficker
sentenced
YANGON, 22 May - Members of
Tachilek Special Anti-drug Squad stopped and searched a motorcycle of Aik
Pyin in Khetta lane in upper Hsansai Ward, Tachilek, on 2-12-2002 and seized
2,000 stimulant tablets from him. Action was taken against Aik Pyin, 18, son
of U Aik Leik of No 57, Sabai Street in upper Hsansai Ward, Tachilek under
sections 15/19(A) of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law by
Tachilek Police Station. Tachilek District Court handed down 20 years'
imprisonment on Aik Pyin under section 19(A) of the law on 18-2-2003.
