 Agreement
signed between Myanmar and Laos
Yangon, 8 May - A
ceremony to sign an agreement between the Government of the Union of Myanmar
and the Government of the Lao People's Democratic Republic was held at the
Headquarters of the Party Central Committee in Vientiane on 5 May evening.
Present on the occasion were Chairman of the State Peace and Development
Council Senior General Than Shwe and President of the Lao People's
Democratic Republic Mr Khamtay Siphandone.

of the State Peace and Development Council Senior General Than Shwe at Ho
Kham Presidential Palace at 6 pm on 5 May.

Democratic Republic Mr Samane Vinaket called on Chairman of the
State Peace and Development Council of the Union of Myanmar
Senior General Than Shwe at Ho Kham Presidential Palace in
Vientiane at 5.30 pm on 5 May.
Thailand Exhibition 2003 opens
Yangon, 7 May - Under
the Myanmar-Thailand economic cooperation programme, Thailand
exhibition 2003 was opened with the assistance of the Ministry
of Commerce at Yangon Trade Centre this morning.

Old gramophone records, tapes and books donated to MRTV

May - Wellwishers donated old gramophone records, tapes and
books to Myanma Radio and Television at the hall of MRTV on Pyay
Road here this morning. Present on the occasion were Deputy
Minister for Information Brig-Gen Aung Thein. Wellwisher Daw Mya Than Shwe
family of Thingangyun Township presented 165 gramophone records in English
and Myanmar.

May - Chairman of Yangon Division Supervisory Committee for
Extended Production of Meat and Fish Member of the State Peace
and Development Council Lt-Gen Khin Maung Than of the Ministry
of Defence, arrived at Indaing Station in Hlegu Township on 6
May afternoon.
SARS surveillance gear donated

May - A total of 50 masks and 50 thermometers to be used in
prevention of SARS donated by Military Attaché Col Ko Ko Maung
and families of the Office of Military Attaché (Army, Navy and
Air Force) of Myanmar to Thailand were handed over to the
Ministry of Health at the Office of the Chief of Military
Intelligence this morning.
Experiences recounted in connection with Workshop on Capacity
Enhancement of Myanmar Civil Service

May - A ceremony to recount experience of the service personnel
delegation which had made study tours to major organizations and
departments in Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand in connection

Peace and Development Council Member Lt-Gen Ye Myint of the Ministry of
Defence on morning of 6 May paid respects and presented offertories to the
Maha Visuddharon Taikthit Sayadaw, the Maniyadana Myataungtaik Shwewawin
Sayadaw, the Masoeyein Sayadaw, the Maha Visuddharon Pariyatti Sayadaw and
the Phayagyitaik Naya Sayadaw in Mandalay.
