Senior General Than Shwe
and wife Daw Kyaing Kyaing to pay State visit LPDR
YANGON,
2 May — At the invitation of
the President of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic His
Excellency Mr Khamtay Siphandone and wife Madame Thongvan,
Chairman of the State Peace and Development Council of the Union
of Myanmar Senior General Than Shwe and wife Daw Kyaing Kyaing
will pay a State visit to the Lao People’s Democratic Republic
in the near future.

Dam opens in Bago Division
YANGON,
1 May — Secretary-1 of the State Peace and
Development Council General Khin Nyunt, accompanied by member of
the State Peace and Development Council Lt-Gen Khin Maung Than,
ministers, deputy ministers, officials of the State Peace and
Development Council Office, departmental heads and officials,
left here by helicopter this morning and arrived at Gamone Dam
in Okpo Township, Bago Division (West), at 9.15 am.
