State to launch new rice trading policy coming year 

Yangon, 23 April — Secretary-2 of the State Peace and Development Council Lt-Gen Soe Win met with the president of Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry, the chairmen  of Myanmar Rice Traders Association and Myanmar Rice Millers Association and vice-chairmen, general secretaries, central executive committee members, executives and members, rice merchants and millers totalling over 200 at Zeyathiri Beikman on Konmyinttha at 2 pm today.



Significant points of the new rice trading policy

* With the removal of the last remaining restriction of the old national economic system, there will be firm development of the market-oriented economy. In other words, it is a new trading policy for fully implementing the market-oriented economic system.

State ends direct purchase of paddy, adopts new rice trading policy ensuring free trade starting coming year

Wellwishers invited for sinking tube-wells

Yangon, 23 April — The Development Affairs Committees under the Ministry for Progress of Border Areas and National Races and Development Affairs are making concerted efforts in sinking the tube-wells in order to get sufficient fresh water in rural areas in States and Divisions where water is scarce.

Minister for Health addresses reproductive health seminar, presents prizes to outstanding staff

Yangon, 23 April — The Seminar on Scrutinization of the Refresher Course for the Reproductive Health Information System organized by the Health Planning Department of the Ministry of Health and the United Nations Funds for Population Activities WHO, and the prize presentation ceremony to outstanding staff, jointly were held at the auditorium of Myanmar Medical Association on Theinbyu Road this morning.
