Yangon, 21 April — A work coordination meeting on holding of literary and painting competitions to commemorate the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, which falls on 26 June 2003, took place at the meeting hall of the Southern Command in Toungoo, Bago Division, on 19 April morning.

Raw opium, heroin seized in Kachin State

Yangon, 21 April—Daw Nyunt Sein, daughter of U Ba San, of Lebonlay Village, Mohnyin Township, was arrested with 3.103 kilos of raw opium on No 47 Mandalay-Myitkyina Up train at Indaw Station by members of the local intelligence unit, Special Anti-Drug Squad and MPF on 1 March.
