Yangon, 4 Aug -Secretary-1 of the State Peace and Development Council of the Union of Myanmar Lt-Gen Khin Nyunt received the Japanese Foreign Minister, Ms Yoriko Kawaguchi and party at the Zeya Thiri Beikman, Konmyintha at 9 am today.

( 3 ) Central Supervisory Committee for Ensuring Smooth and Secure Transport meets

Yangon, 4 Aug-The Central Supervisory Committee for Ensuring Smooth and Secure Transport held its Meeting 2/2002 at the meeting hall of Zeyathiri Beikman on Konmyittha here this afternoon, with an address by Chairman of the Central Supervisory Committee Secretary-1 of the State Peace and Development Council Lt-Gen Khin Nyunt.

First, Chairman of the Central Supervisory Committee Secretary-1 of the State Peace and Development Council Lt-Gen Khin Nyunt made a speech. He said that the Yangon-Mandalay Union Highway has been contributing much towards economic, trade and social sectors of the State as well as all-round development of other sectors. With the aim of using the Union Highway in all seasons and upgrading it into the highway of international level and encouraging economic sector of private entrepreneurs, the extending and upgrading of the Yangon-Mandalay Union Highway has been launched section-wise as the national project since the last open season in accord with the guidance of Head of State Senior General Than Shwe calling for assigning duties among national private entrepreneurs, he said. Due to concerted efforts of the respective entrepreneurs, the project is making progress to a certain extent.

At present, the Yangon-Mandalay Union Highway is being extended and the old road is being renovated. As a result, there prevails smooth and secure transport in the rainy season. It is the fruits of united cooperation of the national entrepreneurs. Further efforts are to be made for constant renovation of the existing road to be able to travel in all seasons, for the emergence of the six-lane advanced road to be able to reach Yangon-Mandalay trip within ten honours, he noted.

This being so, arrangements are to be made to store the equipment required in renovation of the road in the rainy season and in the tasks to be undertaken in the open season. He urged the national private entrepreneurs to make further efforts for the emergence of the modern express highway as soon as possible in accord with the objective of the State. He added the State will provide the necessary assistance for the project. Then, Maj-Gen Ye Myint of the Ministry of Defence spoke. He said that Hon Pan Co, Yuzana Co, Asia World Co and Dagon International Co have been undertaking the work in extending and upgrading the Yangon-Mandalay Union Highway in upper Myanmar.

Those companies are making earnest efforts in construction of the new roads and renovation of the old one and bridges, and coordinations are being made company-wise to fulfil the requirements, he said. Next, Maj-Gen Khin Maung Than of the Ministry of Defence spoke. He said that Shwe Than Lwin Highway Co, Olympic Co, Kanbawza Path-Finder Co and Dagon International Co have been undertaking the work in extending and upgrading the Yangon-Mandalay Union Highway in lower Myanmar. The companies are giving priority to renovation of the old road as there were heavy rains in the region, he said and adding renovation of bridges and construction of new road were also carried out.

As a result of exerted efforts, one cna go from Yangon to Toungoo within four hours in the summer and about five hours in the rainy season, he noted. Then, Deputy Minister for Construction U Tint Swe reported on fulfilling the needs of the national entrepreneurs in implementation of the project and tasks to be carried out by the ministry. Afterwards, officials of Shwe Than Lwin Highway Co, Asia World Co, Olympic Co, Kanbawza Path- Finder Co, Yuzana Co, Hong Pang Co and Dagon International Co reported on their undertakings and requirements. This was followed by a general round of discussions. The meeting ended with the concluding remarks by Chairman of the Central Supervisory Committee Secretary-1 of the State Peace and Development Council Lt-Gen Khin Nyunt.

Secretary-1 attends cash donation ceremony for construction of UMFCCI new building

Yangon, 4 Aug- A cash donation ceremony for construction of the building of the Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry was held at UMFCCI building on Minye Kyaw Swa Road in Lanmadaw Township this morning, attended by Secretary-1 of the State Peace and Development Council Lt-Gen Khin Nyunt.

 President of UMFCCI U Win Myint reported on the purpose of construction of the building, tasks and requirements. He said the UMFCCI was established in 1919 and it is now 83 years old. The UMFCCI is leading the private sector as NGO and is a member of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and ASEAN-CCI. It has been actively participating in local and foreign economic enterprises and international communications. A modern building for UMFCCI is now needed. Therefore, a cornerstone-laying ceremony for construction of a 12-storey building was held on 12 May 2001. Wellwishers donated K 196 million for construction of the building, he said. He also reported on improvement of functions of UMFCCI with the assistance of the government and progress of economic enterprises of its members and continued cooperation in implementation of the four economic objectives. Chairman of Board of Patrons of UMFCCI Minister for Commerce Brig-Gen Pyi Sone reported on matters relating to the construction of the building. Vice-President of UMFCCI Chairman of Construction and Maintenance Committee U Win Aung reported on construction.

Next, the Secretary-1 took part in the discussions. He said UMFCCI is a federation consisting of entrepreneurs from private sectors in Myanmar. Therefore, the government is rendering assistance for emergence of a modern magnificent building in accordance with the characteristics of the federation. He called for cooperation in efforts for emergence of a modern building and for development of economic sector of the State through the unity of its members.

Afterwards, President U Win Myint and Vice-President U Htain Win presented K 10 million donated by Central executive committee members and executives of UMFCCI for construction of a new building to the Secretary-1, Chairman of Myanmar Garment Entrepreneurs Association U Myint Soe and Chairman of Myanmar Beans and Pulses and Sesamum Merchant Association U Tun Aung K 4.7 million donated by 17 associations, Vice-Chairman of Mandalay Division CCI U Soe Myint K 3.2 million donated by 16 associations, Chairman of Kale-Tamu Border Trade Merchant Association U Hla Maung K 2.9 million by nine associations, U Thet Oo of Ayeya Myay Co K 10 million, U Aik Tun of Asia Wealth Bank K 2.5 million, U Maung Weik and U Maung Maung of Asia Express K 2 million each, U Tin San and Dr Htay Htay Myint of National Holding Trading Ltd and ACE Construction and U Kyaw Win of Shwe Thanlwin Co Ltd K 1.5 million each. Next, 11 wellwishers presented K 7.3 million to Minister Brig-Gen Pyi Sone.

The Secretary-1 and party inspected the ground floor and first floor. Altogether 121 wellwishers today donated K 50.1 million for construction of the building. The 12-storey building will be constructed on 1.403 acres of land which is 489 feet long and 129 feet wide. It will cost over K1,000 million and it is situated at No 29, Minye Kyaw Swa Road in Lanmadaw Township. The construction of basement, ground floor and first floor has completed.

( 4 ) Minister U Win Aung meets with Japanese FM

Yangon, 4 Aug - Minister for Foreign Affairs U Win Aung met with Japanese Foreign Minister Ms Yoriko Kawaguchi and party, currently visiting Yangon, at the Sedona Hotel here at 6 pm today.

Also present were Deputy Foreign Minister U Khin Maung Win, the directors-general of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Japanese Ambassador-designate to Myanmar Mr Yuji Miyamoto.

Minister U Win Aung hosted a dinner in honour of Japanese Foreign Minister Ms Yoriko Kawaguchi and party at the Sedona Hotel on Kaba Aye Pagoda road in the evening.

Present at the dinner were Minister for National Planning and Economic Development U Soe Tha, Minister at the State Peace and Development Council Chairman's Office Brig-Gen Abel, Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs U Khin Maung Win and the directors-general and officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Japanese Foreign Minister and party tour Yangon

Yangon, 4 Aug -Japanese Foreign Minister Ms Yoriko Kawaguchi and party currently here at the invitation of the Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Union of Myanmar, accompanied by officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Japanese Embassy, paid homage to Shwe Dagon Pagoda this morning. The Japanese Foreign Minister and party were welcomed there by members of Shwe Dagon Pagoda Board of Trustees U Khin Maung Myint and U Mya Thein.

The Japanese Foreign Minister and party paid homage to the Jade Buddha Image and viewed round the religious edifices in the precinct of the pagoda. Then, they offered lights, flowers and incense to Kathappa Buddha Image in the prayer hall of the western stairway, and Japanese Foreign Minister Ms Yoriko Kawaguchi signed in the distinguished guests'book of the pagoda. The Japanese Foreign Minister donated cash to the fund of the pagoda. Members of the pagoda board of trustees accepted the donation and presented a picture of the pagoda.

The visiting Foreign Minister and party viewed the King Tharyarwady's Bell and replica pagoda of the Htidaw of the pagoda and poured ritual water on a Buddha image. At 2 pm, the Japanese Foreign Minister and party proceeded to Yangon General Hospital, where they were welcomed by Deputy Minister for Health Prof Dr Kyaw Myint, Director-General Dr Wan Maung of the Health Department, Medical Superintendent of YGH Dr Teik Wan and head of department professors and surgeons and nurses.

They viewed Wards-1, 2, 5 and 6 and an elevator donated by Japan. Then, the Japanese Foreign Minister and party viewed the functions and modern medical equipments of the Intensive Care Unit of the hospital, X-ray room, CT Scan room and emergency operation theatre. Deputy Minister Prof Dr Kyaw Myint, the medical superintendent and the staff presented a photograph of the hospital to the Japanese Foreign Minister.

( 6 ) Maj-Gen Thura Shwe Mann inspects factories in Indagaw Industrial Zone

Yangon, 4 Aug-State Peace and Development Council member Maj-Gen Thura Shwe Mann of the Ministry of Defence, accompanied by senior military officers from the ministry, chairmen and officials from District Peace and Development Councils in Ayeya-wady Division, visited Indagaw Industrial Zone of the Ministry of Industry-2 in Bago, Bago Division this afternoon and inspected factories, plants and workshops there.

Maj-Gen Thura Shwe Mann and party arrived at Wan Bawdat Bridge at the border of Yangon and Bago Divisions where Bago Division Peace and Development Council Chairman Commander Brig-Gen Aung Min and officials welcomed them. They then headed for Indagaw Industrial Zone in Bago where Minister for Industry-2 Maj-Gen Saw Lwin, Deputy Minister Lt-Col Khin Maung Kyaw and officials welcomed them.

Maj-Gen Thura Shwe Mann and party were briefed by Minister Maj-Gen Saw Lwin on production work and progress of the zone, existing factories and factories under construction at the briefing hall there. Myanma Automobile and Diesel Engine Industries Managing Director U Soe Thein briefed Maj-Gen Thura Shwe Mann on production of motor vehicle spare parts, matters related to factories; Myanma Agricultural Machinery Industries Managing Director Col Myo Tint on facts about factories; Myanma Machine Tool and Electrical Industries Managing Director U Kyaw Win on production of machines and goods; Myanma Tyre and Rubber Industries Managing Director U Oo Zun on production of different kinds of tyres and tyres for tractors and bicycles; and Myanma Industrial Construction Services Managing Director U Ye Tun on progress of work. Maj-Gen Thura Shwe Mann made a speech.

He spoke of the need to complete the projects in time and to strive to produce goods of high quality and new reliable goods. The ministry plays a key role in building the nation into a modern industrialized one and all are to discharge duties conscientiously. Then, chairmen of District Peace and Development Councils in Ayeyawady Division discussed weaknesses and strengths of tractors produced by the ministry and made suggestions.

 

Maj-Gen Thura Shwe Mann and party viewed water tanks for motor vehicles, metal bearings and disc wheels produced by Myanma Automobile and Diesel Engine Industries of the ministry, power tillers, trolleys, trailers and Zwe tractor (80 hp) produced by Myanma Agricultural Machinery Industries, different kinds of tyres produced by Myanma Tyres and Rubber Industries, lathe, drilling machine, cooker, bulb, fluorescent lamp, batteries, wire and generators produced by Myanma Machine Tool and Electrical Industries, and X-2000 Mazda jeeps, X-2000 SW vehicles, New Pathfinder vehicles, 2-ton motor cars and 10-ton cars produced by Myanma Automobile and Diesel Engine Industries displayed in Water Tanks Factory.

Officials concerned conducted them round there. Maj-Gen Thura Shwe Mann and party inspected production lines of water tanks, disc wheels, power tillers, and other factories and plants. After leaving necessary instructions there, they left for Yangon. Altogether 120,000 bearings for TE diesel engine, X-2000 engine, Zwe tractors, KND-5 B engines (water pump) were produced per year at Metal Bearing plant; 10,000 radiators for TE diesel engine, X-2000 engine and Zwe tractor, at Radiator Plant; 245,000 disc wheels for TE diesel engine, X-2000 engine, Zwe tractor and trailer, at Disc Wheel Plant in the industrial zone.

Maj-Gen Maung Bo inspects development tasks in Mon State

Yangon, 4 Aug - Member of the State Peace and Development Council Maj-Gen Maung Bo of the Ministry of Defence, together with the officials of the State Peace and Development Council Office and departments, went to Sittoung Bridge on the bank of Bago Division on 2 August morning.

Maj-Gen Maung Bo and party were welcomed by Chairman of Mon State Peace and Development Council Commander of South-East Command Brig-Gen Thura Myint Aung, Minister for Rail Transportation U Pan Aung and departmental officials. Minister U Pan Aung explained matters related to construction work. Maj-Gen Maung Bo inspected the bridge. Then, he inspected the motor road between Bilin Township and Thaton Township in Mon State and Yangon-Mottama Highway.

Maj-Gen Maung Bo and party visited the soap factory project on Yangon-Mottama Highway in Thebyugon Village, Paung Township, Thaton District. Maj-Gen Maung Bo gave instructions on production work and worksite safety. Afterwards, he inspected construction of Thanlwin Bridge on the bank of Mottama, Paung Township, Mon State.

Maj-Gen Maung Bo met with departmental officials of Mon State at the office of Mon State Peace and Development Council in Mawla-myine. Yesterday morning, Maj-Gen Maung Bo, together with Commander Brig-Gen Thura Myint Aung and officials, inspected construction work and agricultural and livestock breeding work in Mudon Township and Mawlamyine Township. Next, Maj-Gen Maung Bo and party attended the ceremony marking the completion of ploughing work for cultivation of monsoon paddy in Naungkhayi Village, Mawlamyine Township. Afterwards, Maj-Gen Maung Bo and party inspected Thanlwin Bridge (Mawla-myine) Project on the bank of Mawlamyine. Minister U Pan Aung presented matters related to construction work. Maj-Gen Maung Bo gave instructions.

( 7 ) Ceremony to mark completion of ploughing in Mawlamyine District for 2002-2003 held

Yangon, 4 Aug - A ceremony to mark the completion of ploughing in Mawlamyine Township for 2002-2003 was held at the farm of farmer U Hla Htay near Mawlamyine-Mudon Road, Naung Khayi Village Tract in Mawlamyine Township on 3 August, attended by member of the State Peace and Development Council Maj-Gen Maung Bo of the Ministry of Defence.

He presented cash awards to transplanters. Next, Commander of Southern Command Brig-Gen Thura Myint Aung spoke on the occasion. He said out of the 13,934 acres of monsoon paddy, 13,869 acres have been cultivated in Mawlamyine Township. The Government is endeavouring for developing the agriculture sector.

The government has been making arrangements for extended cultivation acreage, reclamation of lands, boosting the per acre yield, construction of sluice gates and dams and distribution of quality paddy strains and farm machinery. In Mon State six sluice gates and dams were built at a cost of K 1,533.84 million and they have benefited 41,800 acres of farmlands. Kadaik dam which will benefit 10,000 acres of farmland in Paung Township and Kyinhtaw sluice gate that will irrigate 25,000 acres of farmlands in Thaton are under construction.

Arrangements are being made for construction of nearly 20 dams and sluice gates. The commander spoke at length on cultivation of oil crops, chillies and pepper. Regarding regional development, he said efforts are being made to promote transport, education and health sectors after designating the development regions depending on socio-economic conditions and geographical conditions. In order to enjoy fruits of urban development, village-to-village roads are being built. In Mon State development has been made in economic infrastructure such as transport, agriculture, livestock breeding and fisheries. Now Thanlwin River Bridge linking Mottama and Mawlamyine is under construction.

It will be the longest bridge in Myanmar. On completion of the bridge, transport will be smooth and speedy. The commander urged local authorities, experts and farmers to participate in the tasks for development of agriculture in harmony. Next, Maj-Gen Maung Bo presented the first prize to a delegate of farmers in Kadoe Village who completed ploughing first in the township, the commander and the deputy commander the second and third prizes to delegates of Kawtkhame and Minywa Villages. Next, the farmers reported on requirements.

Maj-Gen Maung Bo said local people, staff and farmers are to discharge their duties for national development and construction of human resource development and agriculture and livestock breeding whatever role they are in. By doing so, better foundations for national development can be built.

Now people are enjoying the fruits of development which they never achieve before. This is because irrigation networks that benefit the people are built without any foreign assistance. Such endeavours are being made in accord with the guidance of Head of State Senior General Than Shwe. Then, Maj-Gen Maung Bo cordially greeted with those present.

Then, Maj-Gen Maung Bo, the commander and party attended the ceremony to mark the completion of ploughing of Mawlamyaing District for 2002-2003 held at Tawku Village in Mudon Township. Maj-Gen Maung Bo, the commander and party paid obeisance to members of Sangha led by Gamon monastery Sayadaw Maha Saddhamma Jotikadhaja Bhaddanta Oktarasara and presented provisions to the Sayadaws.

Afterwards, Maj-Gen Maung Bo, Commander Brig-Gen Thura Myint Aung and party presented medicines to the elderly persons in the village. Next, Maj-Gen Maung Bo and party attended the ceremony to mark the completion of ploughing held at the fields of Farmer U Kun Nyein Nge of Tagundine Village. They viewed broadcasting of Yekyaukset (Azola) chemical fertilizer, transplanting of paddy, broadcasting of EM Bokashi fertilizer, thriving of paddy plants and presented honorary cash to members of paddy transplanters. Then Commander Brig-Gen Thura Myint Aung made a speech.

He said this year is the fourth one designated for Mudon Township to boost paddy production. Altogether 78,439 acres of monsoon paddy were targeted to grow in the township and at present 77,245 acres of paddy have been put under paddy. So 98.41 per cent of paddy have been cultivated. To boost per acre yield, procedures are to be performed systematically and EM Bokashi is to be used in every village. Natural and chemical fertilizers are to be used. To supply water and to prevent flood, six dams and sluice gates in Mon State including Azin and Winphanon dams in Mudon Township have been built. This contributes to growing of summer paddy and plantations.ÊFour major crops paddy, beans, cotton and sugarcane  are to be grown for self-sufficiency and for export.

Over 70 per cent of population of the country live in rural areas and five rural development tasks have been laid to narrow the development gap between rural and urban areas. So, all are to actively partake in implementing the five rural development tasks and to strive for regional development hand in hand with local populace and authorities. Maj-Gen Maung Bo heard reports on the needs for education, health and irrigation sectors of the villagers. Township Education Officer U Than Myint, a delegate from Mon State Health Department and Mon State Irrigation Department discussed the matters related to their department. Maj-Gen Maung Bo made a speech and the ceremony ended.

Cash and provision presented to monasteries in Thakayta, Kamayut townships

Yangon, 4 Aug -Families of Tatmadaw (Army, Navy and Air) and wellwishers held a ceremony to donate provisions and cash for fund to Pali Kari, Abhaya Rama, Tipitaka Lankara and Htandaw Pariyatti Sarthintaiks in Thakayta Township in Yangon Division at the hall in Jinamanaung Pagoda in Ward 7, Thakayta Township this morning.

The ceremony was opened with three-time recitation of Namo Tassa. Then, the congregation received the Five Precepts from Presiding Sayadaw Agga Maha Kammathanacariya Bhaddanta Vimala Buddhi. Chief of Staff (Navy) Rear Admiral Soe Thein and senior military officers offered provisions to the Sayadaws.

Next, on behalf of Tat-madaw families (Army, Navy, Air), Rear Admiral Soe Thein, Col Ye Htut of the Ministry of Defence and Lt-Col Than Naing of Commander-in-Chief (Air)'s Office presented 78 bags of rice, 31 viss of edible oil and 62 viss of beans and pulses to members of the Sangha. Myanma Salt and Marine Chemicals Enterprise presented 300 viss of salt and 31 bottles of fine salt; Indigenous Medicine Department, 75 bottles of various kinds of medicine; U Aung Mon-Daw Hla Hla and family, 3 bags of rice; U Khin Maung Htun of Htet Lin medical house, 300 bottles of indigenous medicine; U Hla Htay of Hman Cho medical house, 150 bottles of medicine and U Htun Shwe of Htun Shwe Wah medical house, 180 bottles of medicine to members of the Sangha. AWB offers Waso robes

Yangon, 4 Aug-The third Waso robe-offering ceremony of Asia Wealth Bank Ltd (Head Office) was held at the head office at the Olympic Tower II at the corner of Strand Roads and Ahlon Road in Ahlon Township here this morning. It was attended by members of the Sangha led by Vice-Chairman of State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee Myitkyina Sayadaw Agga Maha Pandita Agga Maha Saddhammajotikadhaja Bhaddanta Silavamsa, Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Myanmar Mr Li Jinjun and guests, Vice-Chairman of AWB Ltd Chairman of Olympic Construction Co U Aik Tun, members of the Board of Directors and staff. First, "dawn soon" was offered to members of the Sangha. The congregation received the Five Precepts and members of the Sangha recited parittas. Then, the Vice-Chairman and members of the Board of Directors and guests presented Waso robes and offertories to members of the Sangha. Afterwards, the Myitkyina Sayadaw delivered a sermon, followed by sharing of merits gained.

( 8 ) Minister meets staff of Myanma Railways

Yangon, 4 Aug - Minister for Rail Transportation U Pan Aung, accompanied by Managing Director U Min Swe and officials of Myanma Railways, met with officials, engineers and supervisors of Division 8 of MR at the compound of Road Transport in Mawlamyine and gave instructions on maintenance of railroads and bridges and tasks to be given priority.

Construction Minister looks over construction of road, bridge

Yangon, 4 Aug - Minister for Construction Maj-Gen Saw Tun accompanied by Brig-Gen Khin Maung Aye of Kalay Station, Deputy Minister for Construction Brig-Gen Myint Thein and officials of Public Works looked over Kalay-Phalam-Haka road section, maintenance of road and extention of road during the rainy season on 30 July and gave instructions.

Next, the Minister and party inspected Phalam road section and Var Bailey bridge and gave instructions on durability of the bridge. Then, the Minister inspected landslide at mile post (103/3) and preventive measures against road blockage. On 31 July, the Minister and party arrived at the construction site of Haka Bank (Branch) and heard reports on work done and future tasks presented by Superintending Engineer U Tin Maung Hla and the Minister gave instructions on different tasks to be carried out depending on the funds. Afterwards, at the meeting hall of Superintending Engineer's office, the Minister gave instructions on proper drainage on either side of the road and gravel to be collected. Then he inspected present road section of Haka-Gangaw and Gangaw District road section, gave necessary instructions to the officials.

( 9 ) Commander attends ploughing completion ceremony of monsoon paddy

Yangon, 4 Aug - Chairman of Yangon Division Peace and Development Council Commander of Yangon Command Maj-Gen Myint Swe, together with Commander of No 1 Military Region Col Khin Maung Soe, Secretary of Yangon Division Peace and Development Council Lt-Col Kyaw Tint and members, departmental officials, attended the ceremony marking the completion of ploughing work for cultivation of monsoon paddy and a transplanting skill competition on the field of farmer U Htay Naing, near Yangonpauk Village, in Twantay Township this morning. Officials reported on the use and production of EM Bokashi, natural fertilizer, super fetilizer and nitrogen fertilizer. The commander gave instructions.

At the ceremony, he called on local farmers to cultivate every vacant land for the improvement of the living standard and an increase in their income. The commander and officials then presented prizes to the winning townships of the transplanting skill competition. It is targeted to cultivate monsoon paddy on 615,326 acres of land with sufficient rain water in Yangon South District; up to now, 785,513 acres of land have been put under monsoon paddy; therefore, about 98.40% of 798,690 targeted acres has been put under monsoon paddy.

The commander and party then inspected the fish breeding ponds of U Than Lwin in Pyatha Taik Village-tract in Twantay Township. Afterwards, the commander and party met with local people at the hall of the library in Kyaikhtaw Village, Kawhmu Township. He elaborated on the five rural development tasks and called on the local people to work harder for the economic development of the region. Then, the local authorities reported on regional development tasks. The commander attended to their requirements. The commander and party also inspected the 16-bed station hospital in Kyaikhtaw Village. Later, the commander and party paid homage and offered alms to the Sayadaws led by member of Yangon Division Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee Bhaddanta Pannabala. Afterwards, the commander and party inspected the basic education high school in Kyaikhtaw Village. After that, the commander and party proceeded to the Ayeyawady Bridge (Dedaye) Project. Deputy Superintending Engineer U Khin Maung Win reported on construction work. The commander called for timely completion of construction work and worksite safety. Ayeyawady Bridge (Dedaye), 4,088 feet long, links Ingapu Village in Kungyangon Township, Yangon Division, with Dedaye, Ayeyawady Division. It has a 28-foot-wide motorway and two 3-foot-wide pedestrian lanes. It can support 60-ton loads.
