(1) Secretary-1 attends cash presentation ceremony for all-round renovation of Shwephonepwint Pagoda in Pazundaung Township 

YANGON, 28 July- The cash presentation ceremony for the second all-round renovation of Shwephonepwint Pagoda and religious buildings in Pazundaung Township, Yangon East District, was  held at the pagoda this morning, attended by Secretary-1 of the State Peace and Development Council Lt-Gen. Khin Nyunt.

Also present were member of the State Peace and Development Council Chairman of Yangon Division Peace and Development Council Commander Maj-Gen Khin Maung Than, ministers, deputy ministers, officials of the Office of the State Peace and Development Council, members of the Central Leading Committee for the Second All-round Renovation of the Pagoda, departmental heads, members of the Pagoda Board of Trustees, the Union Solidarity and Development Association and Maternal and Child Welfare Association, wellwishers and distinguished guests. Chairman of the Central Leading Committee Deputy Minister for Commerce Brig-Gen. Kyaw Hsan reported on the second all-round renovation of the pagoda and the religious buildings and Deputy Superintending Engineer (Architect) of Public Works (Head Office) U Win Zaw on work to be carried out for all-round renovation of the pagoda and the buildings.

The Secretary-1 fulfilled the requirements and gave instructions on all-round renovation of the pagoda. U Kya of Mintaingpin Village presented a treatise of code of laws on inheritance, a bronze bedstead, six bundles of palm-leaf writing, a parabaik (black) and a royal order written on palm-leaves donated by Kinwun Mingyi Kyaungtaik in Mintaingpin Village, Pale Township, Sagaing Division, to the Secretary-1. The Secretary-1 accepted the donations 16,860,792 donated by recipient of medal for excellent performance in social field (second class) Manizawtadara U Thein Win-Thiha Thudama Theingi Thiri Thudama Theingi Daw Ni (Shwe Thanlwin Co.); K 2.5 million by Maung Weik (Maung Weik and Family Co.); K 1.6 million by U Myo Oo (OK Brothers Enterprise Ltd-U Kyu and Family Flour Factory); K 1.5 million each by U Nay Aung of Aung Yee Phyo Co. and U Sein Myint-Daw San San Kyu of Diamond Star Co. and K 1 million by U Ye Myint-Daw May Tin of Panyoma Co. Then, the commander accepted K 500,000 each donated by U Htay Yin of Royal Garden and Asia World Co.; K 50,000 by Deputy Minister for Commerce Brig-Gen. Kyaw Hsan and Daw Kyi Kyi Win and family; K 500,000 each by U Kyaw Khin (Deco Land Co.), U Tin (Myanmar Dairy Co.) and Thiha Thudama Manizawtadara U Tin Win-Daw San Win (Myanmar Pyithahae KN Co.) and K 360,000 by U Maung Maung Myint of Myint Naing Co. Minister for Religious Affairs U Aung Khin, Minister for Co-operatives U Aung San, Minister for Hotels and Tourism Maj-Gen Saw Lwin and Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Maj-Gen. Sein Htwa also accepted other donations. After the ceremony, the Secretary-1 and party went around the pagoda clockwise and inspected the buildings.

(2) Mingalarmay Cooperative Society urged to continue to participate in tasks for national eco progress, women sector development

YANGON, 28 July- The fifth annual meeting of Mingalarmay Women All-round Development Cooperative Society Ltd was held at the International Business Centre on Pyay Road this evening, attended by Secretary-1 of the State Peace and Development Council Lt-Gen. Khin Nyunt. Also present  were the ministers, the deputy ministers, officials of the State Peace and Development Council Office,  heads of department, officials of social organizations, the chairperson of Mingalarmay Cooperative  Society and members of the board of directors and guests.

The Secretary-1 expressed his pleasure for the success of a woman cooperative society formed with  successful women entrepreneurs at a time when the government is striving for the all-round development  of the woman sector. Enlisting the participation of the entire national people, the State Peace and  Development Council is striving to promote the national economy and to ensure that all the citizens  equally enjoy economic and social development. In its efforts to promote the national economy, the  government has been creating opportunities not only for the governmental departments but also for  businesses of national entrepreneurs and cooperative societies.

The government is taking measures to ensure that the initiative to shape the national economy is firmly  kept in the hands of national entrepreneurs and cooperative societies. To enable all the citizens to enjoy  economic and social development, the government is also striving to ensure the harmonious development  of all the states and divisions as well as of border areas, to narrow the gap of development between rural  and urban areas, to ensure the proportionate progress of intellectuals, intelligentsia, entrepreneurs and  white collar and blue collar workers in respective fields and to promote the development of children,  youth, elderly people, men and women sectors. In mobilizing national forces, the government has  organized women mass which has been outstanding throughout the successive periods, into a national  force. Today women associations are emerging one after another which are taking the lead in striving for  the development of the women sector in the economic and social sectors. It is encouraging to see the  emergence of women associations  Myanmar National Committee for Women's Affairs and Myanmar  Maternal and Child Welfare Association at the national level and Women Entrepreneurs Association,  Mingalarmay Women All-round Development Cooperative Society and Thirimay Women Cooperative Society.

Mingalarmay Cooperative Society has been formed with noble aims  to contribute to the implementation  of economic, social and religious tasks with the strength of women folk, to strive for the improvement of  living standard of women residing in Myanmar and to make cooperative activities of Myanmar women  outstanding in the world. Mingalarmay Cooperative Society is undertaking tailoring work and production  and sale of goods for women and Myanma traditional cultural objects, providing financial assistance for  the members and running fitness training courses for women. In addition, it is carrying out social  activities for its members and their families. Furthermore, it has been doing other economic and social  activities  and taking part in Kunming Trade Fair, Thai Trade Fair, Singapore Trade Fair, Cooperative  Market Festival and trade fairs in the nation, participating in the mass activities of the Union Solidarity  and Development Association, making donations in cash and kind to Parahita training schools, schools,  monasteries and participating in the activities related to women's affairs and environmental affairs.

Today national entrepreneurs, cooperative societies and social organizations that are successful in the  economic sector have been contributing to the affairs of the education, health, religious and social sectors  of the State, and this tradition has become very common. As Mingalarmay Cooperative Society is also  doing these tasks, it should be put on record. Although Mingalarmay Cooperative Society is an economic  association, it needs to continue participating in the tasks designed for the improvement of the national  economy and development of the women sector. It also needs to carry out activities designed to enable  Myanmar girls to cherish and preserve Myanma tradition and culture. In addition, in striving to promote  the interests of the nation, it needs to cooperate with other women social associations, non-governmental  organizations and governmental departments.

In conclusion, the Secretary-1 wished the perpetual existence and success of Mingalarmay Cooperative  Society and urged all to double their efforts for the development of the national economy and religious,  education, health and social sectors. Then, Chairperson of Mingalarmay Cooperative Society Daw Thet  Yee spoke of the purpose of holding the anniversary. The ceremony came to a close with the presentation  of a commemorative painting to the Secretary-1.

(3) Secretary-1 attends opening of new building for No 6 BEHS in Shwepaukkan 

YANGON, 28 July- A ceremony to open a new building for No 6 Basic Education High School, Shwepaukkan Myothit, North Okkalapa Township, Yangon East District, was held at the school this  morning, attended by Chairman of Myanmar Education Committee Secretary-1 of the State Peace and  Development Council Lt-Gen. Khin Nyunt.

The school building was donated by the Department of Human Settlement and Housing Development  under the Ministry of Construction. Also present were member of the State Peace and Development  Council Chairman of Yangon Division Peace and Development Council Commander Maj-Gen Khin  Maung Than, the ministers, the deputy ministers, officials of the State Peace and Development Council  Office, heads of department, district and township authorities, the headmistress and staff, the chairman  and members of the school board of trustees, parents, wellwishers, students and guests. Minister for  Construction Maj-Gen Saw Tun and Minister for Education U Than Aung formally opened the new  school building. Then, a ceremony to mark the opening of the new school building was held in  conjunction with a cash donation ceremony.

Director-General of DHSHD U Arnt Kyaw explained matters pertaining to construction of the school  building. Director-General U Arnt Kyaw handed over documents related to the plot of the school and the  building to Director-General of No 3 Basic Education Department U Tin Win. The Secretary-1 accepted  donations made to the fund of the multimedia teaching centre  K 500,000 by DHSHD, K 2.4 million by  parents, K 500,000 by the school board of trustees, K 300,000 by U Thet Oo (Ayeyamyay Company) and  K 150,000 by U Kyi Thein (Shwezinkyan Rice and Oil Trading). Commander Maj-Gen Khin Maung  Than and Ministers U Than Aung and Maj-Gen Saw Tun also accepted donations. Headmistress Daw Mi  Mi Nge spoke words of thanks. The Secretary-1 said that at the opening ceremony of the new school  building, wellwishers have donated cash to the fund for the opening of a multimedia teaching centre.  Therefore, teaching aids will be able to be installed and used. Teachers are required to teach students with  the aim of ensuring the emergence of well-rounded education, uplifting the standard of education up to international level and bridging the gap of education development between rural and urban areas.

Students also need to use modern teaching aids beneficially and to strive to become outstanding and efficient persons who will serve the nation. After the ceremony, the Secretary-1 and party inspected the  new school building and watched the students learning lessons. The school occupies 1.639 acres of land,  and the building, 194 feet long and 30 feet wide, is of reinforced concrete type. The school comprises  eight classrooms (30 ft x 24 ft), an office for the headmistress (10 ft x 24 ft), a room for teachers (10 ft x  14 ft) and a computer and reading room (10 ft x 24 ft), and is also well furnished. The school was built at  a cost of K 27.2 million provided by DHSHD. Then, the Secretary-1, together with the commander, the  ministers and the officials of the State Peace and Development Council Office, went to the family  exhibition of Painter U Lun Kywel on Taungngu Street, Ward No 17, Shwepaukkan Myothit.

The Secretary-1 and party watched paintings by ancient noted painters and the water-colours and oil-colours by Painter U Lun Kywel. Painter U Lun Kywel and family presented a water-colour named  "Myanma Tradition" and an oil-colour named "Myanma Traditional Dance." Then, the Secretary-1 signed  in the visitors' book and left there.

(4) Minister for Foreign Affairs arrives back from ASEAN meetings

YANGON, 28 July- Minister for Foreign Affairs U Win Aung arrived back here today after attending the  34th ASEAN Ministerial Meeting held in Hanoi in Vietnam, Informal Meeting of ASEAN Foreign  Ministers, the second meeting of ASEAN+3 Foreign Ministers, the 8th Meeting on ASEAN region, the  meeting of Foreign Ministers of ASEAN and dialogue partners and the second Ministerial level meeting  on the Mekong-Ganges. Minister U Win Aung was welcomed back at the airport by Minister at the State  Peace and Development Council Chairman's Office Brig-Gen. Abel, Minister for Cooperatives U Aung  San, Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs U Khin Maung Win, Charge d' Affairs ai of the embassy of the  Socialist Republic of Vietnam Mr Nguyen Dinh Tang and officials.

Reverence paid to Sayadaw Bhaddanta  anissara

YANGON, 28 July- Maha Toe Pilgrimage Association and Thanwaizaniya Layhtana Pilgrimage Association paid reverence and presented Waso robes to Vice-chairman of Para Desi Sangha Nayaka Committee in India Presiding Sayadaw of Myanmar Monastery in Kuthinayon Agga Maha Pandita Bhadanta  anissara at Mogok Soonsarsaung on Kaba Aye Hill here this afternoon. Present were Vice-chairman of the State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee Abhidhaja Maha Rattha Guru Mahaaung-mye Bonsankyaung Sayadaw Baddanta Pa-indabhivamsa and members of the Sangha, Minister for Religious Affairs U Aung Khin, Deputy Minister for Health Professor Dr Mya Oo, Director-General of the Department for Promotion and Propagation of the Sasana U Sann Lwin, officials and lay persons of the two pilgrimage associations. Secretary of the State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee Abhidhaja Maha Rattha Guru Abhidhaja Agga Maha Saddhamma Jotika Magway Sayadaw Bhaddanta Kumara administered the Eight Precepts. Minister U Aung Khin and wife Daw Yin Yin Nyunt, Deputy Minister Prof. Dr Mya Oo and wife Daw Tin Tin Mya, officials, lay persons and wellwishers presented offertories to the members of the Sangha. Magway Sayadaw delivered a sermon, followed by sharing of merits gained and the ceremony came to a close.

Pabedan Township USDA holds annual general meeting 

YANGON, 28 July- Minister for Industry-1 U Aung Thaung inspected the sale of products of the ministry  at Winthuza Shop in Mayangon Township this morning. In the afternoon, CEC member of the Union  Solidarity and Development Association U Aung Thaung delivered a speech at the annual general meeting of Pabedan Township USDA at the Border Trade Department of the Ministry of Commerce. U Aung Thaung presented TV sets and VCRs for No 3 Basic Education High School and No 1 Basic Education Middle School to the headmistresses. U Aung Thaung presented prizes to the executive committee for its outstanding performance in organizational work. Secretary of Pabedan Township USDA U Aung Naing presented gifts and cash assistance to the executives for their active participation in USDA activities and USDAs in 11 Wards in the township. Next, Secretary of Pabedan Township USDA U Aung Naing spoke at the meeting. The executives submitted a report of the association and ward executive members took part in the discussions.

Annual general meeting of Hline Township USDA

YANGON, 28 July- An annual general meeting of Hline Township Union Solidarity and Development Association was held at its office in Hline Township this afternoon. CEC members of the USDA, Col Tin Hlaing, U Thaung and Brig-Gen. Maung Maung Thein, secretaries of Yangon West District and  Township USDAs and executives, members and the chairman of Township Peace and Development  Council, departmental officials and guests were present. CEC member Col Tin Hlaing spoke on the  occasion.

Member of Secretariat of USDA attends opening of artesian well in ChaungU Township

YANGON, 28 July- A ceremony to open an artesian well at Basic Education Middle School in Minti  Village in Magyeegwa Village-tract, ChaungU Township, Sagaing Division yesterday morning. Present on the occasion were Member of the Secretariat of the Union Solidarity and Development Association U Win Sein, members of Monywa District and ChaungU Township Peace and Development Councils, executives of Monywa District and ChaungU Township USDAs, members of USDA, organizers and local people. Member of the Secretariat of USDA U Win Sein made an address. On behalf of local people, U Oo Lwin spoke words of thanks. Minister U Win Sein formally opened the artesian well and inspected the water. Five artesian wells have been dug. Local people are sinking eight more artesian wells under the arrangement of Monywa District and ChaungU Township USDAs.
 
Mayangon Township USDA holds annual general meeting  

YANGON, 28 July- An annual general meeting of Mayangon Township Union Solidarity and Development Association was held in the office of Chambers of Commerce and Industry in Bayintnaung  Brokerage this afternoon. CEC members of USDA Col Tin Hlaing and Brig-Gen. Maung Maung Thein spoke on the occasion. Brig-Gen. Maung Maung Thein accepted USDA membership applications. Col Tin Hlaing accepted donations for the association and presented certificates of honour to the donors. Executive of Yangon Division USDA Daw Thin Thin Moe, Secretary of Yangon West District USDA U Tin Win, District Executive U Nay Win and Executive of Township USDA U Thet Tun presented prizes to the wards for conducting multiplier courses and outstanding performance in the respective sectors. The meeting was presided over by Secretary of Township USDA U Win Kyi.

USDA Annual General Meeting held in Dagon Township

YANGON, 28 July- Annual General Meeting 2001 of Dagon Township Union Solidarity and Development Association was held at the meeting hall of the association on Shwedagon Pagoda Road here this morning, attended by USDA CEC member U Aung Khin, Yangon Division USDA Executive Daw  Thin Thin Moe, Secretary of Yangon West District USDA U Tin Win and executives, Chairman of Dagon  Township Peace and Development Council U Oo Khine and members, officials and others. USDA CEC member U Aung Khin spoke on the occasion. Then, Township Education Officer U Tin Kye presented  membership applications of students of basic education schools in Dagon Township to USDA CEC member U Aung Khin. Secretary of Township USDA U Khin Hlaing Tun presided over the meeting. Then, executives and representatives took part in the discussions. The concluding remarks by Meeting Chairman U Khin Hlaing Tun brought the meeting to a close.

(6) Planning Department opens training course on planning skill

YANGON, 27 July- Training course No 31 on planning skill (level-1) for deputy staff officers from the head office and state/division, district and township planning offices under the Planning Department of  the Ministry of National Planning and Economic Development was opened at the training hall of the  Planning Department this afternoon. Present on the occasion were Minister for National Planning and  Economic Development U Soe Tha, directors-general of departments under the ministry, directors,  officials, guests and trainees. The minister made a speech. Altogether 70 trainees are attending the course.

Deputy Minister inspects hotel services in Thandwe

YANGON, 26 July- Deputy Minister for Hotels and Tourism Brig-Gen. Aye Myint Kyu and officials inspected Ngapali Beach Hotel in Thandwe on 22 July. The deputy minister inspected progress of work under the terms of the lease contract and gave instructions on future tasks. On 23 July, the deputy minister inspected private-owned Bay View Hotel and Sandoway Resort Hotel and gave instructions on  arrangements for accommodations in the open season. On 24 July, the deputy minister met service  personnel of Myanma Hotels and Tourism Services and discussed implementation of the targets,  recruitment of staff and training. Yesterday, the deputy minister also discussed work done for the first  quarter of fiscal 2001-2002 and implementation of the targets at Thayawady beverage branch.

(7)  DSRO holds sixth Waso robe offering ceremony

YANGON, 28 July- Defence Services Records Office held the sixth Waso robe offering ceremony at the  office this morning. Chairman of the State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee Abhidhaja Maha Rattha Guru Abhidhaja Agga Maha Saddhamajotika Koehsaung-taik Sayadaw Bhaddanta Sobhita and member Sayadaws of the Committee and member Sayadaws of Township Sangha Nayaka Committee were present on the occasion. Vice-Chairman of the State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee Abhidhaja Maha Rattha  Guru Maha Aungmyay-bonsan Sayadaw Bhaddanta Panditabhivamsa administered the Eight Precepts. No  4 Military Region Commander Yangon Station and DSRO Commandant Brig-Gen. Myo Myint and wife  Dr Daw Thi Thi Aye, Lt-Col Tin Ko Ko and wife, officers and other ranks and families offered Waso  robes and alms to the Sayadaws. Rattha Guru Abhidhaja Agga Maha Saddhammajotika Magway Sayadaw Bhaddanta Kumara delivered a  sermon, followed by sharing of merits. The wellwishers donated Waso robes and offertories worth K  382,180 to the Sayadaws.
 
Results of matriculation examination announced

YANGON, 29 July- The results of the matriculation examination held in March 2001 were announced  today. The results are posted at the respective examination centres and schools in the States and Divisions  and Townships. The results of other States and Divisions except Yangon Division will also be posted at  No 1 Basic Education High School in Insein, No 1 BEHS No 1 in Yankin, No 3 BEHS in Kamayut, No 1  BEHS in Lanmadaw, No 2 BEHS in Dagon and No 1 BEHS in Thingangyun Township.

Results of 2001 matriculation exam to be broadcast for areas of difficult access in States and Divisions

YANGON, 29 July - The Radio Myanmar will broadcast the results of the 2001 matriculation examination for the areas of difficult access in States and Divisions on 30.85 metres short wave at 1.30 p.m. on 29 July (Sunday). The Radio Myanmar will broadcast the results of the matriculation examination for Tanai, Machanbaw, Putao, Nagmon and Phakant of Kachin State, Papun and Kya-in-Seikkyi of Kayin  State, Kanpetlet, Matupi, Mindat and Paletwa of Chin State, Gwa, Kyeintali, An, Manaung and  Zayatkonkhin of Rakhine State, Momeik, Namhsan (North), Monghsat, Mongkai, Kunlong, Mongton,  Mongpyin, Maukme, Mongyang, Kehsi Mahmsam, Kunhein, Hopang Mongkhat, Mongpang, Mongphyat,  Mabein and Mongshu of Shan State, Palaw and Bokpyin of Taninthayi Division, Pauk, Htilin, Saw,  Longshe, Kyauktu, Sedoktara and Ngaphe of Magway Division, Nangyun of Sagaing Division and  Cocogyun of Yangon Division. The rest results will be broadcast on 520 metres medium wave and 30.85  metres short wave at 9 p.m. on the same day after the end of Myanmar Programmes.

(8) ASEAN Photo Exhibition continues

YANGON, 28 July- ASEAN Photo Exhibition sponsored by the Ministry of Information continued at Yangon City Hall from 9 am to 5 p.m. today, and altogether 1,580 monks and people visited it. On show  at the exhibition are 184 prize-winning photos from ten ASEAN nations and 130 tentatively-selected  photos from Myanmar. Also on display are the books which people can read free of charge at the libraries  of the Information and Public Relations Department. The exhibition will continue till 31 July.

Painting contest of children aged 12 and under from ASEAN nations to be held

YANGON, 27 July- A painting contest of children aged 12 and under from ASEAN member nations will  be held in September 2001. The theme of the painting contest is kindness. Students aged 12 and under  from basic education schools under the Ministry of Education can take part in the contest. The size of the  painting is 15 inches x 20 inches, and every student can send up to four paintings. The entries are to be  sent to Myanmar ASEAN Culture and Information Committee Office, the National Museum, Pyay Road  by 15 September. Those who want more information can contact basic education departments. Twenty  best paintings will be selected, and handsome prizes presented. These paintings will also be sent to the  painting exhibition to be held at ASEAN Summit in Brunei Darussalam.

MRTV English Programme (MRTV3) to be given trial run

YANGON, 27 July- The trial run of Myanma Radio and Television English Programme (MRTV3) will be  telecast from 9 am to 10 am daily as of 1 August 2001 after the daily regular TV programmes.

The trial run for foreign countries will go on air as of 4 August.

The programme will be broadcast three times  1.00 p.m., 6.00 p.m. and 11.00 p.m. - on Saturdays and  Sundays. The programme can be received by TVRO through satellite. The audience at home and abroad can send their suggestions to Myanma Radio and Television, Pyay Road, Yangon.

(9) English Proficiency Course No 4 ends

YANGON, 27 July- English Proficiency Course No 4 for law officers of Attorney-General's Office concluded at the meeting hall-2 of the office at 11 am today, attended by Deputy Attorney-General U Khin  Maung Aye, the directors, the advisers, the deputy directors, officials, course instructors and trainees.  Deputy Attorney-General U Khin Maung Aye made a speech on the occasion, and presented prizes to the  outstanding trainees.

Myanmar wins Singapore in billiards matches

YANGON, 28 July- The Myanmar-Singapore friendly billiards tournament was opened yesterday at the  Game City Sports Hall at Yangon Zoological Gardens. Chairman of Myanmar Olympic Committee  Minister for Sports Brig-Gen. Thura Aye Myint formally opened the matches. The Singapore team  comprises Chairman of Singapore Billiards and Snooker Council Manmohanjit Singh, team manager  Richard Wee Kok Hiong, coach Arvind G. Savur and players Puan Teik Chong, Alan, Chua Poh Teik,  Ronnie, Brian Koh Kim Swee and Soh Chye Hian, Freddie. In the yesterday matches at the Game City,  Myanmar beat Singapore 3-0 in two matches of men's single and 3-0 in two matches of men's double.  Today's matches were held at Raffle's Recreation Centre on the fifth floor of Theingyi Market D-complex,  Myanmar team practising for XXI SEA Games beat the Singapore team. Myanmar also beat Singapore 3- 1 in the men's single and the men's double event, 3-0 in the men's single and men doubles event and 3-0  in team event.

Myanmar-Vietnam goodwill pencak silat contest 

YANGON, 28 July- A ceremony to open Myanmar-Vietnam goodwill pencak silat tournament was held at  the National Indoor Stadium-1 in Thuwunna here this morning. It was attended by Chairman of Myanmar  Olympic Committee Minister for Sports Brig-Gen. Thura Aye Myint, officials of the ministry and  Embassy of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, President of Myanmar Thaing Federation Col Thet Htut  and executives, members of Penal of Patrons of Myanmar Women's Sports Federation, guests and  spectators.

The athletes of the two teams took designated places, and General Secretary of MOC Director-General of  Sports and Physical Education Department U Thaung Htaik, the counsellor of SRV Embassy and the chairman of MTF greeted them. Leaders of the two teams exchanged pennants. In men's class-C (50-60) division, Ba Thaung (Myanmar) beat Nguyen Tromg Toan (Vietnam), in women's class-B (50-55)  division, Tin Tin Aye (Myanmar) beat Nguyen Phi Yen (Vietnam), in men's class-B (50-55) division, Tran Thanh Mnh (Vietnam) beat Tin Oo (Myanmar), in women's class-A (40-50) division, Nyein Nyein  Aung (Myanmar) beat Vuthanh Huong (Vietnam), in men's class-D (60-65) division, Nguyen Xuan Hung  (Vietnam) beat Zaw Win (Myanmar), in women's class-C (55-60) division, Trinh Thi Nga (Vietnam) beat
Nwe Ni Zaw Win (Myanmar), in men's class-E (60-70) division, Aung Khaing Win (Myanmar) beat Le Tuan Anh (Vietnam) and in men's class-F (70-75) division, Trinh Ding Long (Vietnam) beat Tha Htay (Myanmar). The second matches will be held at the same venue on 30 July morning.
