(1)  Secretary-1 meet staff of Yangon City Development Committee

YANGON, 26 July- Secretary-l of the State Peace and Development Council Lt-Gen Khin Nyunt met  with staff of Yangon City Development Committee this afternoon at the meeting hall of YCDC. Also Present on the occasions were ministers Chairman of YCDC Mayor U Ko Lay, Vice-Chairmen of YCDC Vice-Mayor Col Maung Pa, the director-general of the State Peace and Development Council Office the secretary the joint secretary and members of YCDC and other officials of the body.  The Secretary-1 said YCDC officials and staff have to review their work efficiency. YCDC activities will be successful in the long run with the active public participation. He urged them to implement their tasks with cetena to win public confidence and to gain dynamic organizational power. He also urged them to make- efforts for success of vegetables and fish breeding and tax-free markets, to endeavour for emergence of a modem
city of international standard as the national duty, to follow the guidance of the Head of State, to supervise development tasks and work for uplift of life style of the people.

Mayor U Ko Lay reported on location of agriculture and livestock breeding projects of YCDC, areas and location of Uto-Kya-in region agriculture project, reclamation of farm lands with the use of  machinery and manpower, construction of bridges arrangements for extended cultivation up to 10,000 acres, inspection by Senior General Than Shwe, arrangements for research work. on paddy, vegetable, fruit and agriculture, construction of rice mill and warehouse, agriculture and livestock breeding projects
in Maubin and Twantay Townships, fish and prawn breeding project in Kyauktan Township, poultry farm in Htaukkyant in Mingaladon and agriculture and livestock breeding project in North Okkalapa.

The Secretary-l expressed satisfaction for YCDC s agriculture and livestock breeding tasks. He urged officials to work for emergence of national model farm in Uto-Kyain region in accord with the guidance
of Senior General Than Shwe and to speed up development tasks.
