(1)       Post-graduate Diploma in Multimedia Arts  PGDMA (Education) Course No 1 opened

YANGON, 6 Oct-Postgraduate Diploma in Multimedia Arts PGDMA (Education) Course No 1 conducted by Human Resources Development Department (Institute of Education-Yangon) was held at the institute this morning. Present on the
occasion were Minister for Education U Than Aung, Deputy Ministers Brig-Gen Soe Win Maung and U Myo Nyunt, the directors-general, the chairman, the rectors of the institutes and universities in Yangon, the principal professors and heads of departments.Minister U Than Aung and Chairman of Human Resources Development Department ( Institute of Education-Yangon) Supervisory Committee Rector of Institute of Education-Yangon U Han Tin made speeches. The minister greeted the trainees and inspected training hall and computer room. The 19-day course is for teachers who will perform duties at the Multimedia Classrooms in Basic Education High Schools. Altogether 192 trainees are attending the course in
Yangon and 98 in Institute of Education-Mandalay .

(2)      Ambassador U Tint Lwin presents credentials to  King of Cambodia
YANGON, 7 Oct-U Tint Lwin, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Union of Myanmar to the Kingdom of Cambodia, presented his credentials to His Majesty Preah Bat Samdech Preah Norodom Sihanouk, King of Cambodia, on 1
October 1999, in Phnom Penh.

(3)      Yangon Mayor leaves for China

YANGON, 6 Oct-Chairman of Yangon City Development Committee Mayor U Ko Lay left here this evening to attend the 6th Asia Kyusu Regional Exchange Summit to be held in Nanjing, Jiangsu, the People’s Republic of China .
The mayor was accompanied by Deputy Head of Public Relations and Information Department of YCDCU U Aung Zaw Hein.

(4)       Magway Division Chairman inspects agricultural work   in Taungdwingyi, Aunglan and Sinbaungwe Townships

YANGON, 6 Oct-Chairman of Magway Division Peace and Development Council Brig-Gen Thein Zaw and officials, inspected arrangements for greening of Taungdwingyi Township and work to be done and plantations in Taungdwingyi on
2 October morning.He discussed with officials progress in cultivation of beans and pulses and sunflower.
Then, Brig-Gen Thein Zaw inspected reclamation of vacant and virgin lands in Koebin Region in Sinbaungwe Township and Ayekayit Region in Aunglan Township. He fulfilled the requirements present by the officials concerned.
Brig-Gen Thein Zaw also inspected arrangements for greening of Aunglan and conservation of forests. He also inspected monsoon paddy fields and beans and pulses sunflower fields and gave instructions to officials.

(5)    Chinese cultural delegation leaves for home

YNGON, 6 Oct- A 30member cultural delegation of Jilin Province of the People’ s Republic of China, performed in Myanmar under the cultural exchange programme between Myanmar and PRC left here by air this morning for home. The
delegation was seen off at Yangon International Airport by officials of Fine Arts Department of Ministry of Culture.

(6)       MR to add new express train on Pathein-Hinthada-Kyangin route

YANGON, 6 Oct-Myanma Railway is to add a new express train to the Pathein-Hinthada-Kyangin route.Furthermore, the route of 185-Up/186-Down mail train running between Pathein and Hinthada will be extended to Kyangin. There
will be no change in the schedule of other trains.There will be no change in the schedule of other trains. No 1 83-Up/1 84-Down express to be extended leaves Pathein Station at 1.3S pm and arrives at Kyangin Station at 10.15 pm. It leaves Kyangin Station at 4.15 am and arrived at Pathein Station at 12.55 pm. No 1 85-Up/1 86-Down mail train which is to
be extended leaves Pathein Station at 6 am and arrives at Kyangin Station at 7 pm. There were changes in the schedule of rail cars running on the route between Pathein-Yekyi and Hinthada-Htoogyi.

(7)    Sayadaws to deliver Buddha Dhamma

YANGON, 6 Oct-Two Sayadaws will deliver Buddha Dhamma at Seikkan Dhammayon at Botahtaung Pagoda on 9 October (15 Waning of Tawthalin 1361 ME). Sayadaw U Kheminda of Khinmagan Monastery of Dagon Township (North) will deliver the Buddha Dhamma at 12.30 pm and member of the State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee Patron of Shwedaung Pali Tekkatho Kyaungtaik of Yenangyoung, Magway Division and Sayadaw Agga Maha Pandita Bhaddanta Tejaniya at 3 pm at the Dhammayon.

YANGON, 6 Oct-Cash donation for International Theravada Buddhist Missionary University was held at the ITBMU this afternoon.Congregation received the Five Precepts from Head of Faculty of Pariyatti Sayadaw Agga Maha Pandita
Agga Maha Gandavacaka Pandita Bhaddanta Kumarabhivamsa.Next, Major Myint Aung (Retd) and wife Daw Than Tin presented offertories to K members of the Sangha and K 100,000 to Director-General U Sann Lwin. Sayadaw Bhaddanta
Kumarabhivamsa delivered a sermon.

        fund for ‘soon’ Padaythabin

YANGON, 6 Oct-A ceremony to set up trust fund for ‘soon’ Padaythabin of Yanaungmyin Soon Offering Association’ was held at Pyinnyami Tazaung on Thatama Dhamma,Nagayon Kyaungtaik in Meikhtila Township on 1 October
afternoon.Present on the occasion were Commander of No 99 Light Infantry Division Brig-Gen Htay Oo and wife, Tatmadaw officers and their wives, others and families of regional battalions, members of departmenta1 officials and
well-wishers, members of Union Solidarity and Development Association totalling 400.Officials presented offertories to Joint Secretary of State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee Sayadaw Bhaddanta Candima, Chairman of Township Sangha
Nayaka Committee Nagayon Kyaungtaik Sayadaw Bhaddanta Ottara and members of the Sangha. Then, Sayadaw Bhaddanta Candima administered the Five Precepts.Today’s donations included-K 50,000 donated by Commander Brig-Gen Htay Oo and wife Daw Ni Ni Win and K 1,401,150 by Tatmadawmen and the family departments and well-wishers.
Chairman of Yanaungmyin ‘soon’ Offering Association U Ohn Kyaw and members of the Board of Trustees accepted the donations.Then, Vice-Chairman U Myint Thein supplicated on the’ donations of ‘Soon’ Offering Association. Bhaddanta
Candima delivered a sermon, followed by sharing of merits. ‘Soon’ offering ceremony of Yanaungmyin Soon Offering Association was held on 2 October morning.

(10)      Monsoon paddy harvested, summer paddy cultivated

YANGON,6 Oct - A ceremony to harvest monsoon paddy and to prepare for cultivation of summer paddy was held in the field of U Tin Win of U Kyee Taw Village, Wakema Township, on 3 October. Present on the occasion were Chairman
of Township Peace and Development Council U Aung San Tha and members, Township USDA executives and officials.The township personnel later explained the land use to the farmers and called on them to cultivate paddy fully.

(11)      Software Engineering Certificate Level-1 course   to be opened

YANGON, 6 Oct - National Human Resources Development Department of the Ministry of Education will open a four-month Software Engineering Certificate Level I course at Diamond Jubilee Hall beginning 4 November. Those who finish
the course will become ones who are proficient in world-class computer programming as professionals.Those who passed BEHS Exam with A List or those who passed matriculation may apply to the Course.Application forms will be
sold at the Head Office of Higher Education Department (Lower Myanmar) on Thaton Street.

(12)Lectures on dangers of narcotic drugs given to students

YANGON, 6 Oct-Lectures on dangers of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances were given to students of Basic Education High School No 1 on Station Road in Hlaing Township on 4 October.
It was sponsored by the working groups of giving education on dangers of drugs to students and to the public under the Central Committee for Drug Abuse Control and Myanmar Anti Narcotics Association. Also present on the occasion were Vice-Chairman of Myanmar Anti-Narcotics Association U Nyunt Maung, Secretary U Aung Myint and executive committee
members, Hlaing Township Education Officer U Thein Myint, members of township anti-narcotics associations, Headmaster of Hlaing Township BEHS No 1 U Chit Hlaing and teachers.
Teachers trained by MANA, graduates of teacher training courses and members of township associations gave lectures on dangers of narcotic drugs to the middle and high school students. The lectures on dangers of narcotic drugs
will be given to middle and high school students from Ahlon, Hlaing and Kamayut Townships.

(13)       Entrepreneur to attend seminar in Vietnam

YANGON, 6 Oct-Central Executive Committee member U Sein Win Hlaing of Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry left here by air this morning for Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, to attend the Seminar on
Integration of Indochina into Global Environment under the Forum for the Comprehensive Development of Indochina (FCDI) which will be held at the city on 7 and 8 October 1999.He was seen off at Yangon International Airport by President U Win Myint of Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry and officials.

(14)    Voters of Natmauk Township Constituency-1 submit  petitions of no confidence in representative-elect  Bo Htwe of NLD

YANGON, 6 Oct-Over 95.3S per cent or 54,084 eligible voters of Natmauk Township Constituency-1, Magway Division, submitted signed petitions expressing no confidence in elected Pyithu Hluttaw representative U Bo Htwe
of National League for Democracy on I October 1999.The 54,084 eligible voters of the township presented their signed petitions of no confidence in U Bo Htwe of NLD at Aingzauk Villagetract and Gwegon Villagetract in the township.U Bo Htwe of NLD was elected as Pyithu Hluttaw representatives in the 1990 Multiparty Democracy General Election from Natmauk Township Constituency- 1 with 25,806 votes or 45.5 per cent of the voters totalling 56,717 .

Aingzauk village-tract

In Aingzauk Villagetract, farmer U Chit Ti of Twingyi village, on behalf of the 5,210 voters of seven village-tracts of the township expressed no confidence in U Bo Htwe of NLD.The signed document was presented by farmer U Mann Maw of Aingzauk village to Chairman of Township Multiparty Democracy General Election Sub-Commission U Tun Aye.

Gwegon village-tract

In Gwegon village-tract, farmer Daw Khin San of Shangon village, on behalf of the 4,481 voters of seven village-tracts of the township expressed no confidence in U Bo Htwe of NLD.The signed document was presented by farmer U Than Kyaw of Sangan village to Township Education Officer Daw Than Aye, who is a member of Township Multiparty Democracy General Election Sub-commission.

(14)    Voters of NatmaukTownshipConstituency-2 submit  petitions of no confidence in representative-elect U Aung Myint Thein of NLD

YANGON, 6 Oct-Over 96.01 per cent or 54,774 eligible voters of Natmauk Township Constituency-2, Magway Division, submitted signed petitions expressing no confidence in elected Pyithu Hluttaw representative U Aung Myint Thein of National League for Democracy on I October 1999. The 54,774 eligible voters of the township presented their signed petitions of no
confidence in U Aung Myint Thein of NLD at Bangon village-tract and Kabaunggongyi village-tract in the township. U Aung Myint Thein of NLD was elected as Pyithu Hluttaw representative at the 1990 Multiparty Democracy General Election from Natmauk Township Constituency-2 with 23,307 votes or 42.4 per cent of the voters totalling 57,049.

Bangon village-tract

In Bangon village-tract, farmer U Bo Tun of Kangyigon village, on behalf of the 4,300 voters of nine village-tracts of the township expressed no confidence in U Aung Myint Thein of NLD. The signed document was presented by
farmer U Thein Htaik of Bangon village to Township Officer of Immigration and National Registration Department U Aung Sein, who is a member of TownshipMultiparty Democracy General Election Sub-Commission.

Kabaunggongyi Village-tract

In Kabaunggongyi village-tract, farmer U Maung Soe of Kabaunggongyi village, on behalf of the 5,340 voters of three wards and nine village-tracts of the township expressed no confidence in representative elect U Aung Myint Thein
of NLD.The signed document was presented by farmer U Sein Lwin of Kabaunggongyi village to Township Judge U Soe Thein, who is a member of Township Multiparty Democracy General Election Sub-Commission.

(15)    17 members resign from Singaing Township NLD

YANGON, 6 Oct—Seventeen members resigned from the National League for Democracy of Singaing Township, Mandalay Division. Seventeen members of Singaing Township NLD, Mandalay Division, of their own volition, resigned by sending letters of resignation to Singaing Township Multiparty Democracy General Election Commission Office and the party concerned on 16 August 1999 as they no longer wished to participate in party politics of NLD.
