(1)    Work coordinated to establish fish market of international standard and develop fisheries

YANGON, 10 Sept - A coordination meeting on establishment of fish market of  international standard and development of fisheries was held at Fisheries  Department this afternoon, attended by Secretary-2 of the State Peace and Development Council Lt-Gen Tin Oo.The Secretary-2 gave instructions. The Secretary-2 called for full utilization of rich resources for the  interest of the people.

(2)    Secretary 2 attends opening of Yangon International Cosmetics & Consumer Products Expo ‘99
 
YANGON, 10 Sept - A ceremony to open the Yangon International, Cosmetics &  Consumer Products Expo '99, sponsored by Via Exhibitions Group and organized by Directorate of Defence Services Museum and Historical Research Institute of the Ministry of Defence with the concent of the Ministry of Commerce, was held in the Tatmadaw Convention Hall on U Wisara Road this morning, attended by Secretary-2 of the State Peace and Development Council Lt-Gen Tin Oo. .

Lt-Gen Tin Oo and party looked round the booths at the exhibition.

(3)    English for Occupational Purposes Course & English Proficiency Course of MRTV conclude

YANGON, 10 Sept - The English for Occupational Purposes Course and the English Proficiency Course of Myanma Radio and Television of the Ministry of Information conclude this morning at MRTV addressed by Minister for Information Maj-Gen Kyi Aung.

Minister Maj-Gen Kyi Aung presented prizes to out standing trainees in the  courses. The minister, the deputy minister and party then inspected broadcasting and telecasting equipment that were used by MRTV.

(4)    National Commission for Environmental Affairs (NCEA) meets
 
YANGON, 10 Sept - The National Commission for Environmental Affairs (NCEA) held its Tenth Session in the Wunzin Min Yaza Conference Hall, Shin Ditha Pamauk House of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs this afternoon.Minister for Foreign Affairs U Win Aung delivered an address.Later, the commission members  discussed the draft Environmental Protection Law and the Environmental Impact  Assessment Rules.The meeting ended with the concluding remarks by the Minister for Foreign Affairs U Win Aung.

(5)    Victorious athletes of South-East Asian Games honour

YANGON, 10 Sept - A ceremony to honour the athletes who achieved victories in  the 20th South-East Asian Games by Committee for Ensuring Success for Myanmar Sports was held at National Indoor Stadium in Thuwunna this afternoon, attended by Chairman of Myanmar Olympic Committee Minister for Sports Brig-Gen Sein Win. Afterwards, Minister Brig-Gen Sein Win presented to winners.

(6)    Minister for Health inspects YGH

YANGON, 10 Sept - Minister for Health Maj-Gen Ket Sein and officials inspected the operation theatre, intensive care unit, chest unit and Urosurgical unit at Yangon General Hospital this morning.

The minister then made arrangements to provide necessary equipment for health  care services.
The minister also inspected the laboratory. The minister later visited patients at the cardiac unit.

(7)    Boiler Holders Course No 3 concludes

YANGON, 10 Sept - The Boiler Holders Course No 3 of Boiler Inspection  Department of Regional Industrial Coordination and Inspection Department concluded at the training hall on Kyaikwaing Pagoda Road in Mayangon Township this morning, attended be Minister for Industry-l U Aung Thaung.

The minister gave a speech. Then, the minister, accompanied by deputy ministers and officials, inspected  East Mayangon Garment Factory No 2 in 7-1/2 mile in Mayangon and gave  necessary instructions.

(8)    Work coordinated for reclamation of 5,000 acres in Myainggyingu Region

YANGON, 10 Sept - A coordination meeting on reclamation of 5,000 acres in  Myainggyingu Region was held at the meeting hall of the Office of Minister for Progress of Border Areas and National Races and Development Affairs at noon today attended by Minister for Progress of Border Areas and National Races and Development Affairs Col Thein Nyunt.

Minister Col Thein Nyunt spoke on the occasion. Then, the meeting ended with concluding remarks by Minister Col Thein Nyunt.

(9)    117 members resign from Pyu Township NLD

YANGON, 10 Sept - A ceremony to present letters of resignation of 1 17  members of Pyu Township National League for Democracy, Bago Division, was held at the Sibin hall in the township at 3 pm on 7 September 1999.

One hundred and seventeen members of Pyu Township NLD, Bago Division, of  their own volition, resigned by sending resignations to the party concerned on 7 September 1999 as they no longer wished to participate in party politics of NLD.Member of Pyu Township NLD U Tha Nyunt, on behalf of the party members, explained about the resignation from the party and handed over the resignations to Chairman of Township Multiparty Democracy General Election Sub-Commission U Aung Khin.
