(1) Special Projects Implementation Committee held its meeting No 1/98
YANGON, 26 Oct - Special Projects Implementation Committee held its meeting No 1/98 at the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army) at 1:45 pm today and Chairman of the Special Projects Implementation Committee Chairman of the State Peace and Development Council Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Than Shwe delivered an address.

(2) Masses of Chin State vow to safeguard State's stability, Peace, tranquillity and economic progress
YANGON, 26 Oct - 21,000 people from various strata of life from Chin State expressed their genuine desire at a mass meeting held at Vamthumaung Sports Ground in Haka Township this morning.
Present were members of Chin Traditional Cultural Troupe, Chin State Union Solidarity and Development Association, Chin State Working Committee for Women's Affairs, Chin State Maternal and Child Welfare Association and Chin State Women Sports Association, Medical Association, Nurse Association, Health Assistant Association and Merchant Association of Chin State, members of Red Cross Society and Auxiliary Fire Brigade and people of Kanpetlet, Tonzang, Tiddim, Thatlang, Falam, Matupi, Mindat and Haka Townships.
The meeting unanimously passed two motions calling for safeguarding and maintaining economic development and ensuring food, clothing and shelter needs of the people and maintaining and safeguarding the stability of the State which has already been achieved.
Representative of the people U Kap Tial of Falam Township chaired it with Representative of national races U Sing Cin Thank of Tiddim Township and Representative of national races U Kil Ling of Haka Township as member of the Panel of Chairmen.

(3) A meeting on keeping Yangon International Airport clean and tidy held
YANGON, 26 Oct - A meeting on keeping Yangon International Airport clean and tidy, ensuring passengers' convenience and the greening and beautifying of the environs of the airport was held in Aung Nyunt Hall of the building of Yangon International Airport this morning, attended by Secretary-2 of the State Peace and Development Council Lt-Gen Tin Oo.
Also present were Minister for Transport Lt-Gen Tin Ngwe, Commander of Mingaladon Air Base Headquarters Brig-Gen Tin Oo, Deputy Minister for Forestry Col Thaik Tun, Deputy Minister for Transport Brig-Gen Kyaw Myint, Deputy Commander of Yangon Command Col San Sint, Officer on Special Duty at the Office of the State Peace and Development Council Lt-Col Than Tint and departmental officials.
In his address, Lt-Gen Tin Oo said various departments concerned are coordinating their efforts to make Yangon International Airport and its environs pleasant, beautiful and clean and tidy.
Yangon Airport, being an international airport, needs to have necessary typical features in all aspects, he noted.
Trees and flowers as well as perennial trees, which cannot cause obstruction to the flight of the planes, are to be grown systematically inside the airport and its environs, he said.
Just as efforts are to be exerted to make the airport and its environs more and more pleasant and beautiful, so also arrangements are to be made for passengers' convenience, he said and urged officials at different levels to supervise their subordinates in making arrival and departure lounges neat and tidy, dealing with passenger and checking passengers and their luggage.
He said the planes must be kept clean and tidy, and repair and maintenance work carried out properly.
It is needed to set up a project in carrying out the greening work and making the airport pleasant and beautiful, and to carry out maintenance and repair work systematically, he said and urged all to present their suggestions on requirements and work which should be carried out.

(4) Kathina robes offered to members of the Sangha
YANGON, 26 Oct - The ninth Kathina robes offering ceremony of Yangon Command was held at Sanchaung Kyaungtaik on Konmyinttha on Ward No 7, in Mayangon Township this morning.
Present were Padana Nayaka Sayadaw of Minguntawya Kyaungtaik Bhaddanta Pandita and members of the Sangha, Commander of Yangon Command Maj-Gen Khin Maung Than, division level officials, commanders of military regions, stations and regional battalions and their wives, families and well-wishers.
Bhaddanta Pandita administered the Five Precepts.
Members of the Sangha recited the parittas.
