(5) Attitude of nationalities peace groups
There have been reports that the majority of the public is worried about the danger of deteriorating peace and of regional stability and peace being undermined after spreading of news that the four groups which had made peace with the government supported the National League for Democracy's call for convening of the Hluttaw. Hence, declarations of the peace groups will be made public to be able to vividly learn the situation between the peace groups and National League for Democracy and the true attitude of the peace groups.
Today, a translation of the declaration of the Kayinni National People's
Liberation Front (KNPLF) is stated as follows:
1. Our Kayinni National People's Liberation Front (KNPLF) is just a small national group practicing the Union policy after being separated from KNPP as we differed with them and as we think that we must abandon the KNPP's policy of establishing an autonomous state and join hands with the Union of Myanmar for fulfilment of the desire to serve the interest of Kayinni State, now Kayah State.
2. As the battles between our Kayinni National People's Liberation Front (KNPLF) and the successive governments brought about bad results, the successive governments, in spite of their efforts for national reconsolidation through various ways, were not successful in their endeavours.
3. Only in the time of the Tatmadaw government, could we build national unity and make peace for materialization of the objective of our Kayinni National People's Liberation Front (KNPLF) for the Union to be a united one, and for peace and development. But peace was not made so easily. We had over various difficulties to build peace. Because of peace restored, the social and economic sectors have enhanced and living standard improved in our border region.
4. We learn that NLD is now organizing for convening a Hluttaw. Our organization never ever supports that party's activities, for we find out that their activities would lead to undermining of peace and stability of the country and disintegration of the Union, and that party's declarations and activities might also cause suspicion between the Tatmadaw and national nationalities groups and undermine peace.
5. At present, our organization will join hands with the government and the world's recognized government, and will build peace lawfully for securing national peace and development and also work together with the government (Tatmadaw government) in future.
6. Only the Tatmadaw government could build national peace and is marching towards flourishing of the disciplined-democracy. Moreover, as we believe that the present government is marching forward on the right track for the country, and we announce that our group will cooperate with the Tatmadaw in future.
