YANGON, 20 June - The Committee for Reform of Myanmar Police Force Management System held its eighth meeting at the Ministry of Home Affairs today, with an address by Chairman of the Committee Secretary-1 of the State Peace and Development Council Lt-Gen Khin Nyunt.

(2) Mr Crusher and Ms Quench Bodybuilding and Beauty Contests
YANGON, 20 June - Mr Crusher and Ms Quench Bodybuilding and Beauty Contests cosponsored by Myanmar Bodybuilding and Physical Culture Federation and MGS Beverages Co Ltd to commemorate Olympic Day were held at the National Theatre on Myoma Kyaung Street this afternoon.
Present were Daw Khin Than Nwe, wife of Secretary-2 of the State Peace and Development Council Lt-Gen Tin Oo, Minister for Hotels and Tourism Maj-Gen Saw Lwin, Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Brig-Gen Py Sone, Chairman of Myanmar Olympic Committee Minister for Sports Brig-Gen Sein Win and wife, Minister at the Office of the Prime Minister Maj-Gen Tin Ngwe, Deputy Minister for Labour U Kyaw Aye, officials of Sports and Physical Education Department and Myanmar Bodybuilding and Physical Culture Federation, Chairman of MGS Beverages Co Ltd donated K 3 million to Myanmar Bodybuilding and Physical Culture Federation.
Minister for Sports Brig-Gen Sein Win accepted the donations and presented a certificate of honour to the donor.
Minister Maj-Gen Saw Lwin presented prizes to first prize winner U Ba Cho, second prize winner U Lay Myaing, third prize winner U Than Aye and others in the above-55 age group bodybuilding contest.
Minister Maj-Gen Tin Ngwe presented prizes to first prize winner U Pya, second prize winner U Bo Cho, third prize winner U Thein Myint and others in the 45-55 age group bodybuilding contest.
Minister Brig-Gen Pyi Sone presented prizes to first prize winner Than Lin Oo, second prize winner Kyaw Min Htut third prize winner Aung Swe Naing and others in under 21 age group bodybuilding contest.

(3) Minister for Transport inspects MIPL Wharf at Thilawa Port
YANGON, 20 June - Minister for Transport Lt-Gen Tin Ngwe inspected MIPL Wharf at Thilawa Port in Kyauktan Township this morning. He was accompanied by Deputy Minister Brig-Gen Kyaw Myint, Managing Director of Myanrna Port Authority Col Thein Htay and officials.
In the MIPL meeting room, the minister was briefed on functions of the wharf by MPA Managing Director Col Thein Htay
The minister then oversaw MIPL offices, production of drums, oil tanks and wharf and pontoon bridges and cargo handling and use of cranes of MV Great Universe anchored at MITT Wharf and gave instructions.
The minister and party then went to the wharf construction project of MPA Simmerdev Port Ltd and heard reports on progress of the project presented by Consulting Engineer Mr Morrison there.
He gave instructions after touring the project area.

(4) 6.613 kilos of opium seized in Shan State
YANGON, 20 June - Opium weighing 6.613 kilos was seized from a bus with number plates 2Kha/8359 at the check point in Nawnghkio, Shan State, on 8 June.
Members of Anti-drug Squad, acting on a tip-off, searched the car traveling to Mandalay from Lashio at the check point and uncovered the heroin belonging to two passengers-Sai Yi Pwe, 26, son of U Mauk Kham of Panhike Ward, Namtu, and Sai Hsaing Phas 25, son of U Sein Myint.
Action is being taken against the two by Nawnghkio Police Station under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law.

(5) Salt factory in Tharkayta inspected
YANGON, 20 June - Minister for Mines Brig-Gen Ohn Myint and acting Managing Director of Myanma Salt and Marine Chemical Enterprise U Saw Win inspected salt factory in Industrial Ward in Tharkayta Township on 19 June.
The minister inspected production of salt for export and packaging machine and production process.
In the evening, the minister went to Kyaikmane camp and inspected production of rehydration salt.
He discussed exceeding the target of production of rehydration salt packets, sale in foreign market and increased production. He also stressed the need to give priority to welfare and health of staff.
He also gave instructions on maintenance of buildings, greening the area and sanitation.

(6) Members of armed groups exchange arms for peace
YANGON, 20 June - The Government has laid down and is implementing twelve political, economic and social objectives with a view to ensuring the emergence of a peaceful, modern and developed nation. At the same time, it is extending a warm welcome to those who exchange arms for peace out of sheer goodwill for national reconsolidation and providing food, shelter and clothing and social needs for them and their families.
Realizing the true goodwill and correct deeds of the Government and the fact that age-long destructive acts did not benefit the country at all, armed groups, individually or in groups, are exchanging arms for peace.
Members of armed groups exchanged arms for peace at various military commands from 16 to 30 June.
In the region of Southern Command, Samala Htoo in charge of foreign relations of KNU Division-1, pvt Tapala Khi of battalion 8 and wife Bago Mya, daughters Naw Hla Kyi Phaw, Demi Phaw, Naw Pyaw Raw Phaw and Naw Si Pho and son Saw Re Gi; in the region of South-East Command, pvt Saw Than Gyaung (a) Adu Kayin of the defence unit of Brigade-6; pvt Kyaw San Myaing of No.1 security unit under Central Security Company, pvt Pha Htaw (a) Awon of battalion 2 of ABSDF armed group bringing along-with them on AK 47 automatic rifle and 75 rounds of ammunition, three magazines and five detonator; in the region a Triangle Region Command, pvt Aik Hon of SURA armed group, bringing along with him one-barrel gun and one round of ammunition, and in the region of Coastal Region Command, pvts Saw Ke, Ma Thein Da, Pho Chit, Thein Kyaw, Ma Ni Lin, Ma Thwe Thwe Aye, Maung Shwe, Naw Phari Di, Naw Moe Tun, Soe He Yu, Naw Aye Kyaing, Saw Moe Aye, Saw Hsa Ei, Saw Kyaw Kyaw and Naw Saw Aye Soe of KNU armed group, bringing along with them one M 16 automatic rifle, two magazines and one-barrel gun and deputy company commander Myat Thein (a) Thein Lwin of ABSDF armed group exchanged arms for peace.
Officials of various commands provided necessary assistance for 28 members of armed groups who exchanged arms for peace.

(7) No.1 Livestock Breeding Farm of Yangon Command selling 4,000 eggs per day
YANGON, 20 June - Chairman of Yangon Division Peace and Development Council Commander of Yangon Command Maj-Gen Khin Maung Than today inspected No.1 Livestock Breeding Farm of Yangon Command and monsoon paddy fields being ploughed by farmers in Mingaladon Township and Tatmadawmen of battalions and units.
This morning, he first inspected poultry farms of No.1 Livestock Breeding Farm and gave instructions on meeting the set target and minimizing loss and wastage.
Afterwards, he observed Shwegon Chicken Meat and Egg Shop of Yangon Command and gave instructions after hearing reports presented by officials.
A total of 150,000 chickens are being reared at the farm which is selling 4,000 eggs and 400 viss of meat to the public daily.
The commander then inspected old shade trees replanted on both sides of the Six-lane Highway between Htaukkyant and Hlegu and 83 acres of paddy field being ploughed up and gave instructions.

(8) SW Command Commander gives counsel to trainees who will be taking special refresher course 2
YANGON, 20 June - Member of Central Panel of Chairmen of the Union Solidarity and Development Association Chairman of Ayeyawady Division Peace and Development Council Commander of South West Command Brig-Gen Thura Shwe Mann gave counsel to trainees of Ayeyawady Division who will be attending special refresher course No.2 and management course No.14 for executives sponsored by Union Solidarity and Development Association at the Office of Division Peace and Development Council on 18 June.
Present were Deputy Commander Col Tint Swe, senior military officers, members of Division, District and Township Peace and Development Councils, departmental officials and trainees.
The commander spoke of the need to implement the tasks for perpetuation of the State, restoration of genuine democracy and national interest with the strength of new generation.
The commander presented cash assistance to leaders of the trainees and then greeted the trainees.

(9) Deputy Minister tours cultural sites in Mandalay Division
YANGON, 20 June - Deputy Minister for Culture U Soe Nyunt inspected Thingyi Nyaungoke and Gugyi stone inscriptions in Mahlaing Township on 16 June.
The deputy minister gave instructions on maintenance of wall paintings.
He visited the place near Chaukkhwe Village where Wunzin Minyaza lived. The deputy minister gave instructions on construction of a building typical of Innwa period.
The deputy minister and party inspected stone inscriptions in the compound of Kodaungpyay Thandithuta Kyaung in Thedaw Township.
On 17 June, Deputy Minister U Soe Nyunt inspected Meiktila Lake stone inscriptions in Meiktila and list of pagodas in Paleik Township.
In Mandalay, the deputy minister inspected construction of the National Theatre, Nandwin stone inscriptions and maintenance of Myanansankyaw Shwenandaw. He later met instructors and trainees of Fine Arts Department in Mandalay.
The deputy minister went to U Pain Bridge and gave instructions on repair of flooring and maintenance.
On 18 June, the deputy minister inspected renovation of Lawkamarazein Kuthodaw Pagoda.
He discussed renovation of Candamuni Pagoda, erecting of memorial post for Prince Kanaung.
