Therefore, ministers have been assigned duty to supervise industrial zones. Assistance is being given to industries, specifically the machinery production industries and automobile industries which contribute to the development of import-substitute industries, agricultural and industrial production work. Vehicles produced from the industrial zones are becoming popular as they are sold at prices and of good quality. If the present quality of producing vehicles can be maintained and if efforts are made to further improve their quality, the standard of local vehicle production work will become higher.

As the government is rendering assistance for local automobile production work, the entrepreneurs need to make efforts for the improvement of quality and quantity. The Central Committee for Industrial Development held a meeting very recently; decisions were made to provide as much assistance as the government could for the development of industries; arrangements were made to import machinery needed for industries. Production of soy bean oil, sunflower oil and Thitsein oil needs to be speeded up. The government is giving assistance for the growing of Thitseint trees in central Myanmar.

Therefore, innovative measures need to be taken to overcome temporary difficulties and to achieve success. Industrial zones need to study and emulate others and need to work together for harmonious development. The government will continue to provide assistance for all the industries and national entrepreneurs. In conclusion, the Secretary-1 said that the success of national entrepreneurs is concerned not only with them but also with the State. ( 3 ) Thityakauk-Sanmagyi-Koebin shortcut dirt road contributes towards education, health and social progress of 55 villages in Magway, Taungdwingyi and Sinbaungwe Townships

Yangon, 27 July- The inauguration of Thityakauk-Sanmagyi-Koebin shortcut dirt road linking Koebin in Sinbaungwe Township and Thityakauk in Magway Township was held at the archway in Koebin Village in Sinbaungwe Township yesterday morning, with an address by member of the State Peace and Development Council Maj-Gen Ye Myint of the Ministry of Defence.

Maj-Gen Ye Myint and party went to the section in Thityakauk Village in Magway Township. Maj-Gen Ye Myint delivered an address. He said: The Thityakauk-Sanmagyi-Koebin shortcut road is a new road in Magway Division. The State Peace and Development Council has laid down the twelve objectives for emergence of a peaceful modern developed nation and is implementing them in all sectors.

He quoted Head of State Senior General Then Shwe as saying that there is less fraternity among the people due to the transport difficulty. Major roads and bridges which are the most essential infrastructure are being built to narrow the development gap. Senior General Than Shwe also gave guidance on emphasis on smooth and secure transport and development sectors to achieve equitable development and to narrow the gap among the regions of the national people. Before 1988, there were 1,207 miles of tarred, gravel and earth roads. Now there are 1,916 miles and five furlongs.

Theses roads include Taungdwingyi-Taungnyo-Pyinmana Road and Magway-Natmauk-Pyawbwe Road that are main ones linking Magway Division and regions in the east of Yoma. Major bridges built in Magway Division are Mone Creek bridge, Mann Creek bridge, Nwetamai bridge across Salin Creek, Yaw Creek bridge, Saidu bridge, Laungkat bridge, Natho Creek bridge and Anawrahta bridge across the Ayeyawady. Moreover, Bwetgyi Creek bridge, Chi Creek bridge, Gonbo Creek bridge, Ohndaw bridge, Tawwin Creek bridge, Tinle Creek bridge and Ayeyawady River Bridge (Magway-Minbu) are under construction. The Ayeyawady River Bridge (Magway-Minbu) will be open soon.

These tasks are being implemented under the guidance of Head of State Senior Than Shwe. Ensuring smooth and secure transport is vital in efforts to build a modern developed nation. Development in a single region, township, district and division is not enough. Only when equitable development can be made in the respective regions, townships, districts and divisions, will the whole nation develop. With the better transport, economic, social, health and education sectors will improve.

In building a modern developed nation, ensuring smooth and secure transport is a fundamental task. The 21 miles and four furlongs Thityakauk-Sanmagyi-Koebin road is the shortcut one leading directly to Aunglan. Distance between Magway and Aunglan is 108 miles and four furlongs long. Using the shortcut road, it saves 26 miles and five furlongs. One can go from Magway to Aunglan without passing through Taungdwingyi. The road will benefit education, health and social progress of local people in 55 villages in Magway, Taungdwingyi and Hsinpaungwe Townships and help smooth flow of local products. The road will become an important section of Yangon-Pyay-Magway-Mandalay Road. Efforts are to be made to become a tarred one.

Maj-Gen Ye Myint called for maintenance of the road for durability. Next, Col Zaw Min said the shortcut road helps speedy transport of local products to urban areas and urged local people to serve the interest of the region and the nation in response to the goodwill of the Head of State and high-ranking officials. Maj-Gen Ye Myint, Minister Brig-Gen Thein Zaw, Deputy Minister Brig-Gen Myint Thein and Chairman Col Zaw Min formally opened the road section in Magway Township and inspected the road. The Thityakauk-Sanmagyi-Koebin shortcut road shortens the 108 miles and four furlongs Magway and Aunglan road to 81 miles seven furlongs. It saves 26 miles and five furlongs. Transport of local products and regional development tasks can be implemented with greater momentum.
