At the same time, the ministers and the deputy ministers met departmental officials at No 1 Basic Education High School,  Tiddim.  The General said the Tatmadaw has laid down Our Three Main National Causes and is implementing them as the conviction and belief.

Due to the Tatrnadaw's correct conviction and belief, the entire nation is achieving progress, peace and stability. Seventeen armed groups have returned to the legal fold and are joining hands with the government in taking part in nation-building tasks. Only, KNU, which has less strength, remains to return to the legal fold.

If the global situation is studied, it can be seen that some of the big and medium countries broke up. The nation has not faced such situation as the government, the Tatmadaw and the people are unitedly safeguarding the nation hand in hand bearing in mind the same conviction and belief.

Myanmar is a nation where 135 national races are living in unity. As Chins are living in areas such as Yangon and Mandalay,  Myanmars are also living in all States and Divisions including Chin State. The national races are living in unity since time immemorial. They are living in unity under the same flag with the Union Spirit.

The government has laid down the 12 political, economic and social objectives, and four-year and five-year plans and is implementing them for all-round progress of the Union. Build  of roads, bridge and irrigation facilities which will help develop the national economy are being extended in the entire nation. Without relying on other counties, Myanmar engineers have built the major river bridges and dams.

The Ministry of Science and Technology was formed and the respective institutions of higher learning have been extended in nurturing intellectuals required for nation-building tasks. Efforts are being made for establishment of an industrial nation based on agriculture.

On the other hand, arrangements are being made in consideration the growing population.

According to the present population growth rate, the nation's population will reach nearly 100 million by the year 2050. The present day people do not need to worry about food as they are cultivating crops on land reclaimed by their forefathers. Thus, the present day people also have the duty to make efforts to ensure adequate food supply for the increasing new generations in the future.

Extra impetus is being given to paddy cultivation. Efforts are being made to increase paddy sown acreage and per acre yield in all States and Divisions. Especially, the tasks are being given priority in the major paddy producing areas such as Ayeyawady, Yangon and Bago Divisions.

At the same time, cotton, sugarcane, beans and corn have been designated as the nation's main crops. Priority is being given to extended cultivation of crops that earn foreign exchange like paddy in suitable places.

Due to natural limitations in land and water resources, agriculture in Chin State has not developed as expected. In line with the market oriented economic system, regular trade as well as border trade with neighbors are being extended.

As plans are under way to open border trade with the neighbor, the state should make efforts to sell its produce to the other country. The General then cordially greeted them.

Secretary-2 Lt-Gen Tin Oo urged them to frankly and boldly present their accomplishments and requirements sector wise. Col Hla Tup explained efforts being made for progress of the region and the transport sector.

Officials reported on sericulture enterprise and cultivation of paddy, corn, beans, orange, tea and mulberry, situation of Kalay-Falam-Haka Road, Gangaw-Haka Road, Haka-Matupi Road and Mindat-Matupi Road which are four main roads of the state, joined in by Minister for Construction Maj-Gen Saw Tun.

Secretary-2 Lt-Gen Tin Oo said the people of Chin State are the main persons who have the duty to strive for progress of the state; and the government is providing and will continue to provide assistance for development of the state.

Endeavours are being made for progress of the less developed areas; and efforts are required for the state to become a tea growing area.
