Chairman of Computer Subcommittee Rector of Yangon Institute of Computer Science and Technology Dr Kyaw Thein explained computer quiz programmes, Chairman of Support Committee Deputy Minister for Electric Power Brig-Gen Maung Maung for holding of the exhibition on a grand-scale and Chairman of Finance Subcommittee Vice-Chairman of Yangon City Development Committee Vice-Mayor Col Maung Pa financial matters.

Lt-Gen Khin Nyunt said the exhibition will be held with four objectives:

Its main aim is for spiritual development of youths, to uplift national spirit and to vitalize patriotism, he added.

Myanmar had lived under her own kings and also fallen under servitude, passing through various eras, he recounted.

Primate fossils found in Myanmar are the evidence of the existence of manlike creatures in the nation 40 million years ago when man had not evolved yet and that this has been approved by international experts, he declared.

There are firm historical links that Myanmars have evolved through Stone Age, Bronze Age, Iron Age and different stages of civilization in their own nation, he said.

There are records that Myanmars have fine traditions, possessing a high-standard culture, and always repulsed the many foreign aggressions with unyielding spirit throughout various eras, he recounted.

There were colonialists' suppression of Myanmar culture and driving in of a wedge between Myanmar nationals during the nation was under servitude, he recalled.

The Tatmadaw has safeguarded the nation from near-disintegration which she had faced several times after the independence was regained, he said.

The danger of colonialists' interference still exists today, he warned, saying they are trying to gain influence through economy, culture, religion and social ways.

The entire nation and the race could become a minion of neocolonialists again if colonialists could manipulate today's youths at will through their attempts in cooperation with internal traitors and axe-handles to mislead youths, he noted.

The essence of the exhibition is to promote dynamism of patriotism and national pride for the youths to possess the conviction to safeguard independence and sovereignty with correct knowledge and view and thoughts in their heart while protecting youths from being deceived by internal traitors to put them under the colonialists' influence, he stated.
